Military hospitals can set bones, stop the bleeding and bandage the wounds. But what happens when the stitches turn into scars and the casts and bandages are gone? So often, our active duty military personnel and veterans along with their spouses are left to do the rest of the healing on their own. Warriors in Recovery helps military families build three, six and nine-month comprehensive treatment programs designed to aid in physical, mental and emotional recoveries.

Why treat the whole person? Many soldiers, veterans and their families are suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and many others suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries in combat that have changed the way they live. These conditions aren’t always easy to diagnose and the symptoms manifest in vastly different ways from one person to the next. One thing is almost certain – drugs aren’t enough. Studies have shown that comprehensive recovery plans incorporating treatments like massage, therapeutic massage, acupuncture, good nutrition, physical activity, group counseling and "pay it forward" humanitarian programs designed to treat the whole person in mind, body and spirit, help and have been successful.

How Warriors in Recovery can help- The private healthcare world has long recognized the healing powers of massage, acupuncture, chiropractic care, group counseling, nutrition and physical fitness. Private insurance plans usually cover these treatment options. The military Tricare plan is behind in recognizing many of these healthcare solutions. Warriors in Recovery works to make these viable treatment options readily available to our servicemen and women regardless of their financial situations. We’re always looking for qualified volunteers around the country who can offer their services or volunteer alongside our soldiers and veterans.

We also welcome donations that can be used to pay for provider fees when we don’t have volunteers available as well as funds to help support our Pay it Forward Missions programs "Return to Love Projects".
